Williams Grove
Speedway Saturday Night Series Adds New Promotion For Kids
Mechanicsburg, PA. June 18, 2014
The Williams
Grove Speedway Saturday Night Series is a program aimed at families with
children. This Saturday the series
will add a new promotion for kids between the ages of eight and 18.
The new
Youth Announcer program will begin.
Each week one of the young racing fans will announce a Street Stock qualifying
event. The child will broadcast the
starting lineup and finish. During
the race the youngster will do color commentary with speedway announcer Dave
Hare.
This new
promotion will join several other successful campaigns.
Each week, during intermission, there are interviews with the young fans
and they receive candy. This past
weekend was the first driver trivia contest.
One young fan, on her birthday, answered trivia questions about 358 Late
Model driver Alan Sagi. With help
from her father she was correct on seven of the eight questions.
This weekend
the Blazer’s Body Shop Super Sportsman, Credit Connection Auto Sales 358 Late
Models, and Aquafun Pools Street Stocks will be in action. Last week Mike Enders
won his first 2014 Super Sportsman main.
Noted stock car driver Gene Knaub was victorious in the 358 Late Models.
Steven Dove, driving one of two Ford-powered Street Stocks, captured his
first victory of the year.
The racing
action begins at 6:30. Adult
admission remains at five dollars with children 12 and under free.
