Bobby Hockenberry, Randy Croop, Jeff Haag, and Greg Diehl Win Williams Grove Speedway Features

Mechanicsburg, PA June 7

After suffering through early season mechanical issues and frustrations, Bobby Hockenberry obtained his first 2014 Blazer’s Body Shop Super Sportsman feature.  The Shermansdale driver won the 20-lap race with ease.

Bobby Hockenberry was on the inside of the front row as the 24-car field thundered into turn one.  Caution flags at the end of lap one and four kept the field close to Hockenberry.

Hockenberry, on a slippery racing surface, kept his car glued to the bottom lane.  He had a large lead over Duaine Smith.  Jay Fannasy, Steve Wilbur, and Frankie Herr had a close battle for third.

Bobby Hockenberry saw his 3.41 second lead disappear due to a lap 13 caution.  Following the restart, it was all Hockenberry. The veteran driver captured his initial 2014 victory by a half straightaway over Smith, Fannasy, Wilbur, and Herr.

The heat wins for the 31-car field went to Wilbur, Russ Mitten, and Hockenberry.  Kenny Edkins was the consolation victor.  Scott Geesey received the Sprint Aces Hard Charger award.

Randy Croop was on the pole for the start of the 20-lap Credit Connection Auto Sales 358 Late Model feature.  Croop led with Les Hare, Jared Miller, Sam Rial and DJ Mease in pursuit.  In the seventh circuit the lead group encountered a slower car.  The car went sideways forcing the lead pack to scatter across the turn.  Croop recovered to maintain the lead with Miller advancing to second and Hare dropping to third.

Jared Miller was a length behind Croop when the race went under caution conditions on lap 11.  Over the final nine laps Randy Croop gained an advantage.  The Berwick driver won his first of the year by 12 lengths over Miller, Hare, Cam Zeigler, and Rial.

Chad Julius, Jake Jones, and Rial won the preliminaries for the 25-car field.  Wes Alleman received the Artwerks Hard Charger award.

The Aquafun Pools Street Stocks had two 15-lap main events.  Chris Heller led the first race before relinquishing the number one position to Steven Dove.  The lead pack had eight cars with numerous position changes behind Dove.

Jeff Haag was fourth following a lap nine restart.  He gained third place on lap 12, advancing to second the following circuit.

A lap 14 caution set up a final dash to the finish.  Dove led into the final turns with Haag selecting the outside line.  The lead duo was even at the exit of turn four.  Jeff Haag won his second of 2014 by a half foot over Dove.  Brett Pickel, Heller, and Kevin Sigler completed the top five.

Greg Diehl led the second race with Kevin Sigler lurking close behind.  Through the first half of the race Sigler was a length behind Diehl.  The lead duo pulled away from Jeff Haag, Jason Geesaman, and Mike Buckley.

Diehl gained a slight edge the final five laps.  He won his second of the season by five lengths over Sigler, Haag, Geesaman, and Buckley.

The qualifying races for the 21 entries went to Sigler and Diehl.  Todd Bowersox and Geesaman received the Artwerks Hard Charger awards.
