FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mechanicsburg – Williams Grove Speedway will kickoff the 25th annual Pennsylvania Speedweek Series for 410 sprint cars this Friday night, June 26 at 7:30 pm.

The Williams Grove Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints will compete in the speedweek series opener, paying $5,000 to win a 25-lap main event.

The race will be part of the 2015 Hoosier Diamond Series at the oval.

The ARDC Midgets will also be on the Friday night card.

The Williams Grove portion of the 50/50 on the night will be donated to Citizens Hose Co. No. 1 of Dillsburg as the company that supplies ambulance coverage to the speedway.

Thanks to speedweek series title sponsors Jake’s WayBack Burgers and Trone Outdoor, the 2015 speedweek series champion will receive a hefty and fitting $10,000 for the laurels.

Williams Grove Speedway first began hosting the start of the highly successful series back in 2013.

Greg Hodnett, the current Williams Grove season and Diamond Series point leader, won that first Williams Grove kickoff with Danny Dietrich scoring the opener at the track last year.

Williams Grove will play host to its second and biggest night of the 2015 series one week later, on July 3 at 7:30 pm, when it hosts “The Crown Jewel Of Speedweek,” The Mitch Smith Memorial.

The Smith Memorial pays $10,000 to the winner.

This year will mark the 27th running of the prestigious event honoring the late area hot shoe.

Clearly, current Grove point leader Greg Hodnett is the man to beat in speedweek action.

The Spring Grove pilot owns four career titles in the series but his car owner, Mike Heffner of Hellertown has yet to garner a crown.

And this could be the year for Heffner.

His car and Hodnett have already won twice at the Grove alone this season and eight other times during their campaign thus far, making them the win leaders in the East and one of the top performing teams in the nation.

The quest for the speedweek title all starts Friday night, at 7:30 pm, at Williams Grove Speedway.

Adult general admission for the show is $16 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for $10.

Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted free at Williams Grove Speedway!

The Williams Grove Saturday Series featuring the super sportsman continues on Saturdays during the summer months with race time at 7 pm each week.
