Mechanicsburg –
Williams Grove Speedway is set for
another two-division sprint car racing program this Friday night, April 21at
8 pm when it presents the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars and the HJ
Towing & Recovery 358 sprints.
Adult general admission for the show
is set at $15 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for $10.
Ages 12 and under are always admitted for free
at Williams Grove Speedway.
The Williams Grove portion of the
50/50 ticket sales on April 14 will go to Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
The 410 sprints will compete in a full program of
qualifying heat races and a 25-lap feature paying $3,600 to win.
The 358 sprints will also race in heats and a 20-lap main
event.
With several early season races
having fallen victim to weather, the April 21 event will serve as the last
chance for the Williams Grove regulars to get on track as they prepare for
the annual Tommy Hinnershitz Classic on April 28.
The annual Tommy Hinnershitz Classic
will be the setting for a clash between Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star
Circuit of Champions Sprints and the Pennsylvanis Posse stars and cars.
The Tommy Classic will feature time
trials, heats and a 30-lap main paying $5,000 to win out of a total purse
worth over $25,000.
The Tommy Classic will also kickoff the 2017 Diamond
Series of events at the oval, a series of races that carries its own points
and resulting payoff at season’s end.
The PASS/IMCA 305 sprint cars are
also on the Tommy Classic program.
May 5 will find Williams Grove
Speedway in action with another Yellow Breeches 500 for the 410 sprints
along with the 358 sprint cars at 8 pm.
