Williams Grove Hosts Biggest And Best Event Of Speedweek Friday ~
30th Annual Mitch Smith Memorial To Be Staged!

Mechanicsburg – Still the biggest and the best of all Pennsylvania Speedweek events, the $10,000 to win Mitch Smith Memorial is on tap at Williams Grove Speedway coming up this Friday night, July 6 at 7:30 pm.

The 30th annual running of the Mitch Smith Memorial will take place on Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips Night at the speedway.

 
Run in honor of the famed late Linglestown racer and begun in 1989, the Mitch Smith Memorial will again be the crown jewel of the annual speedweek series, boasting the largest and most lucrative total purse of all 10 speedweek events, worth nearly $34,000.

And fans can take in the spectacle of sprint car technicians for just $20 while youth ages 13 - 20 can see the show for just $10.

Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.

Joining the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints on the big racing card will be the Mason Dixon Shootout Series for 358 limited late models.

 
The Mitch Smith Memorial main event for sprint cars will go 30 laps in distance.

A holiday fireworks display is also slated to take place during the night.

Puyallup, Washington's Trey Starks scored a popular victory in last year's Mitch Smith Memorial, claiming the first Williams Grove Speedway main event of his career while at the wheel of the Scott Gobrecht owned No. 44.

Starks has already announced that he will be returning to defend his win in the prestigious event.

This week's Mitch Smith Memorial will be another race in the 2018 Williams Grove Speedway Hoosier Diamond Series.
