May Williams Grove World of Outlaws Stand Features NAPA/NGK Morgan Cup

  World-renowned automotive industry parts suppliers sponsor annual laurels

There is just under a month to go until the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars make their return to Williams Grove Speedway for the 2016 season in the first of three stands this year.

 

The two-day stand on May 20 and 21 will be highlighted by the running and bestowal of the 2016 Morgan Cup, presented by NAPA and NGK Spark Plugs.

 

Named to honor longtime oval owner Morgan Hughes, the Morgan Cup is a perpetual trophy that resides at the home office of the circuit that proves victorious in a given annual feature event held at Williams Grove Speedwya.

 

The Morgan Cup either going home with the outlaws to North Carollina to reside in their corporate headquarters until next year or it stays home with the PA Posse in Mechanicsburg, at the Williams Grove office.

 

This year’s Morgan Cup presented by NAPA/NGK champion will be crowned with the running of the Saturday, May 21 main event and the lucky driver will take home a $5,000 bonus for the honor on top of the regularly posted $12,000 feature winner’s share.

The Morgan Cup race event incorporates both, with the touring division of the World of Outlaws vying with the Pennsylvania Posse for bragging rights & possession of the prize,” says Todd Weber of NAPA Auto Parts.

NGK, the world leader in spark plugs, has its United States division headquarterd in Wixom, Mich., and touts a large influence in NASCAR and Formula 1 racing.

 

NAPA has over 50 stores in the greater Harrisburg area.

 

Williams Grove General Manager Just Loh says Williams Grove is proud to partner with NAPA and NGK.

The May 20 and 21 World of Outlaws program at Williams Grove includes fireworks with racing action getting underway each night at 7:30 pm. 

 

Adult general admisson each night is $30 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for $15.
