Williams Grove Speedway To Honor Kimmel August 2

Billy Kimmel Memorial for 410 sprints & 358 Summer Series on tap

Mechanicsburg – Williams Grove Speedway will be in action coming up this Friday, August 2 at 8 pm when it presents the Billy Kimmel Memorial for the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars, contested as another race in the 2019 Yellow Breeches 500 series.

Also on the program will be the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprints competing in a Summer Series race.

The Billy Kimmel Memorial for 410 sprint cars is run in honor of Billy Kimmel of Mechanicsburg.

At the age of 27, Kimmel was fatally injured in a sprint car racing accident at Williams Grove Speedway in 2007.

The Kimmel Memorial honors his memory and life yearly on the WilliamsGrove Speedway schedule.

The 2019 Kimmel Memorial will be 25 laps in distance, paying $3,800 to win with $500 on the line just to start the feature.

There will be NO time trials.

The 358 sprint Summer Series race will also be 25 laps in distance.

Adult general admission is set at $16 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for $10. Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.

Following the racing program on August 2, Williams Grove Speedway will not be in action on August 9.

The speedway will have no racing on August 9 as it takes a Summer Break.

But just one week later, on August 16, the oval will come roaring back with the return of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to the oval.

The World of Outlaws Late Models tour will be make its return to the track for the first time since it first raced there, in the series inaugural event anywhere, some 31 years ago.

It was April 22, 1988 when Springfield, Missouri’s Larry Phillips scored the big win at Williams Grove Speedway.

The August 16 WoO Late Model race will be 40 laps in distance and pay $10,000 to win.

The 410 sprints will be in action on August 16 along with the late models.
