Dietrich And Layton Battles For Career First Titles Continue Friday At Williams Grove

Mechanicsburg - Two different sprint car point battles will continue at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night and both have something in common.

Both drivers trying to win titles in the 410 sprints and URC Sprints are looking for the first crowns of their careers.

In the 2019 Williams Grove Speedway 410 sprint car point battle for the track title, Gettysburg’s Danny Dietrich leads the standings over one-time champion Freddie Rahmer.

If he is able to hold on through the final six shows of the season at the track, the oval title will be the first ever for the Adams County pilot.

But Rahmer is close enough to keep the pressure on, some 340 points back, so that one bad feature run for Dietrich could dramatically close the gap for Rahmer.

Both Dietrich and Rahmer have four Williams Grove wins to their credit to date this season.

And in the URC Sprint season point battle, Harrisburg’s Chad Layton is trying to record his first ever series title.

Layton has two wins on the season and nine top five finishes while his pursuer Josh Weller holds a single victory and 11 top five finishes.

Weller is the defending series titlist and is looking to make it two in a row, now 71 markers out of the lead.

Gates for this Friday’s 410 sprint, URC Sprint open wheel doubleheader open at 5:30 pm with racing action slated for 7:30 pm.

The URC Sprints will race in a 25 lap main paying $2,000 to win while the 410 sprints compete in the 25-lap Keith Kauffman Tribute feature paying $4,777 to the winner.

Adult general admission for the big sprint car show is set at $18 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for just $10. Kids ages 12 and under are always FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.
