From 1983 through 2004 this race was run as the Early Bird Championship before becoming the Spring Classic in 2005 and 2006. From 2007 to present this race has been run as the Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial Spring Classic. This race was also run as the Jack Gunn Memorial simultaneously from 1991 through 1997.
