Alleman, and Jeff Haag Win Williams Grove Speedway Saturday Races

Scott Geesey
used a wet and fast Williams Grove Speedway surface to win the 20 lap Blazer’s
Body Shop Super Sportsman main.
Todd Leonard
jumped into the lead and led the field down the back stretch.
In turn three Leonard’s car went into a series of gyrating flips.
He climbed from his heavily-damaged car and walked back to the pits.
Leonard, after experiencing dizzy spells, was later transported to the
hospital.
Tom Wyckoff
started on the pole and led with Chad Trout in close pursuit.
The race came to a halt on lap two for a crash involving Chad Criswell
and Doug Dobson. There was a brief
fire on the Dobson car but neither driver sustained any injuries.
Wyckoff
continued to lead with Rick Barr in second and Trout was third.
Scott Geesey, the ninth-place starter, was in fourth.
Trout advanced to second with Geesey moving into third. Chad Trout and
Scott Geesey had a tight battle for second with Geesey gaining the position in
the 10th circuit.
Scott Geesey,
from Wellsville, was trailing leader Tom Wyckoff by five lengths on lap 11.
One lap later Geesey used the low lane in turns three and four to pass
Wyckoff.
Scott Geesey
stretched out his lead over the final five laps.
He won the race with a three second lead over Chad Trout. Gregg Foster
was third, Ton Wyckoff had his best finish with a fourth, and Bobby Hockenberry
captured fifth.
Mike Enders,
Wyckoff, Foster, and Rich Eichelberger won the heats for the 32-car field.
Frankie Herr received the Sprint Aces Hard Charger award.
Brad Shank
set a rapid pace in the first half of the 20 lap Credit Connection Auto Sales
358 Late Model feature. Dan Zechman,
Pat McNeal, Matt Nailor, Roy Miller, Cam Zeigler, and Jake Jones were chasing
Shank.
Wes Alleman
began the race in seventh position and dropped back several positions. He found
a groove and was in sixth place when the caution came out on lap 12.
Dan Zechman
used the restart to pass Brad Shank for the lead.
Matt Nailor was second, with Shank in third and Wes Alleman in fourth.
Two laps later Alleman proceeded to second place.
The race
went under caution conditions on lap 17.
Dan Zechman and Wes Alleman, following the restart, were even entering
the third turn. The two were
deadlocked off turn four with Alleman gaining the lead on the front stretch.
Wes Alleman,
from Newville, won by 12 lengths over Dan Zechman, Jake Jones, Matt Nailor, and
Cam Zeigler.
Zeigler and
Alleman won the preliminary events for the 21 entries.
Jake Jones received the Artwerks Hard Charger award.
Dustin
Hollinger, the second-place starter, led the opening circuit of the 15 lap
Aquafun Pools Street Stock feature.
Jeff Haag began the event in sixth and was in the runner-up position by the end
of the first tour.
Hollinger,
Haag, Craig Morgan, Mike Buckley, and Walt Lemmon were racing in close
formation. The only caution of the
race came on lap seven.
Jeff Haag
used the restart to pass Dustin Hollinger in turns one and two.
Craig Morgan, one lap later, captured second position.
Morgan was within four lengths of the leader but lost ground in the final
laps. Haag, from Mechanicsburg,
crossed the finish line ten lengths ahead of Morgan.
Dustin Hollinger was third, Walt Lemmon fourth, and Kevin Sigler finished
fifth.
The Street
Stocks had no heat races for their 15 entries.
Craig Morgan won the Artwerks Hard Charger award.
The Williams
Grove Speedway Saturday Night Series returns to action this weekend featuring
the Blazer’s Body Shop Super Sportsman, Credit Connection Auto Sales 358 Late
Models, and Aquafun Pools Street Stocks.
Racing begins at 6:30. Adult
admission is five dollars with children 12 and under free.
