Details Announced For August 5 Williams Grove 358 Sprint Match Race

Mechanicsburg – More details have been announced surrounding the first-of-its-kind 358 Sprint Match Race for the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 Sprints at Williams Grove Speedway, coming up on Friday night, August 5.

The 358 Sprint Match Race total purse tops out at over $20,000 thanks to donated and matching funds being pumped into the event.

As per race rules, Williams Grove Speedway matched up to $5,000 of the donated $7,500, creating a combined total influx of $12,500 into the regular purse structure.

All donated and matched funds are being distributed EVENLY between all 24 main event starters.

All of this means that the 25-lap main event will pay $2,021 to win while tapering off back to 24th with the final finisher taking home $696.

The format for The 358 Sprint Match Race will find drivers drawing for heat starting positions.

The top finishers in the heats will then redraw to start in the first four, five or six rows of the feature, dependent on the number of heats that are contested.

All starting positions behind the drivers that redraw in the feature will be filled via a heads-up format based on heat finishing position.

Thanks to the efforts of Bill Devine from Dirty Deeds in Honey Brook, a family of donating sponsors is contributing to the special event.

Firms donating include: Dirty Deeds, Honey Brook; Chad Baker Drain Cleaning, Plumbing & HVAC, Enola; Ephrata Recycling, Ephrata; Beartown Recycling, Narvon; Roberson Truck Parts, Honey Brook; The Mennonite Mafia family and the Devine Motorsports No. 70 D pit crew.

The 358 Sprint Match Race for the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprints is a new and exciting event at Williams Grove in 2022.

The Match Race is a special event for the limited sprint cars that posts not only a standard Williams Grove 358 sprint purse but it also offers the opportunity for the 358 field to race for thousands and thousands more in purse money as is evidenced.

All increases beyond the standard purse are thanks to donations and "Match Funds" put into the pot by any sponsors, fans and the track.
