Williams Grove Speedway In Final Two Weeks Of Saturday Night Action

There are two weeks of Saturday night racing remaining with the Williams Grove Speedway Saturday Night Series.  The next two Saturday evenings will complete the successful Saturday night action at the famed half-mile oval.  The season will end with a Friday night event on September 11.

Frankie Herr, the defending Blazer’s Body Shop Super Sportsman champion, is maintaining a 110-point lead over Scott Dellinger.  In the Credit Connection Auto Sales 358 Late Models, Billy Wampler holds an 85-point lead over Ron Kline and a 100-point gap ahead of Cam Zeigler.  Craig Morgan, winless this year, has a 300-point advantage over five-time winner Jeff Haag in the Aquafun Pools Street Stocks.

The Aquafun Pools Street Stocks will have a two-race weekend next week.  They will join the 410 Sprint Cars on Friday night, August 21, at Williams Grove before returning to the Mechanicsburg oval the following evening.

On Friday night, September 11, the fifth annual Topless 30 for the 358 Late Models will highlight the night’s racing.  This year the 30-lap race will pay a minimum of $2,000 to win and at least $200 to start.   MWG Transport, Inc. of Lebanon and Pennsylvania & Harbaugh Amusement Machine of Martinsburg, West Virginia are providing sponsorship of the event.  Miller’s Racing Parts of Mechanicsburg will provide $200 to the driver with the fastest time in time trials.


Loco-Motives Appalachian Mountain Speedweek will present the Hard Charger with a $200 cash award with a slight twist. The winner of the award will receive $100 in cash with the remaining $100 being donated to the Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation in the hard chargers’ name, in memory of Linda Bigler; Bigler is a former Saturday Night Series scorer.


Williams Grove Speedway and Susquehanna Speedway Park engine rules apply for this event with the tire rule being as follows:

A. Only Hoosier 1300 or harder or American Racer 44 or harder may be used. This compound rule applies for all 4 corners of the race car and is in affect at all points of the program from and including time trials through and including the completion of the feature.

B. All tires much punch/durometer a minimum of 40 at all times.


This Saturday Williams Grove Speedway management will donate their half of the 50/50 money to the Boy Scouts.


Racing action the next two Saturdays begins at 7 PM.  Admission remains at $6 for adults and children 12 and under are free.
