FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mechanicsburg – The Lawrence Chevrolet sprint cars will tune up for the 53rd annual Williams Grove Speedway World of Outlaws Champion Racing Oil National Open this Friday night, September 25 at 7:30 pm.

With the National Open looming October 1, 2 and 3, this will be the last chance for the Williams Grove regulars known as the Pennylvania Posse to ready themselves for the big three-day event the following week.

The National Open tune up race will crown the 2015 Hoosier Diamond Series champion.

The sprint car feature will pay $4,000 to win with time trials setting the starting lineups for heat races, followed by a dash and the 25-lap main event.   Double file restarts will also be used per outlaws protoco during the event.

The HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprints will also be in action for their final show of the season with the champion being crowned in that division as well.

General admission for the show is $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 13 – 20.

Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted free at Williams Grove Speedway!

The Williams Grove portion of the 50/50 on September 25 will be donated to the Monroe Elementary PTO Walk.

Greg Hodnett currently leads the points in both the 2015 Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint season-long title chase along with the Diamond Series.

If he is able to win the 2015 Diamond Series title, the laurels would be the sixth of his Williams Grove career after also taking crowns in 2003, 2007, 2010, 2012 and in 2014.

Hodnett’s Diamond titles to date have come at the wheel of the Bob Stewart No. 12 (2003); Jim and Sandy Kline No. 22 (2007, 2010); John Trone No. 39 (2012); and the Mike Heffner No. 27 (2014).

York’s Chase Dietz will be trying to cap off a career-first Williams Grove 358 sprint track title with his run on September 25.

Dietz currently has a 20-point lead in the Godfrey Motorsports No. 5 over Grantville’s Doug Hammaker. Matt Campbell sits within striking distance, although 140 points behind the leader.

Following the 358 portion of the show with the champion decided, Williams Grove officials will bestow the 2015 track title laurels to the titlist along with awards to the winner of the special Summer Series.  Other awards to be handed out incluce Rookie of the Year, Sportsmanship and Most Improved.

The 2015 National Open is coming up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 1, 2 and 3.

The World of Outlaws sprint car sanctioned event will pay $50,000 to the winner of the Saturday night 40-lap National Open finale.
