Williams Grove Match Race For HJ Towing & Recovery 358 Sprints Is Sept. 15

Mechanicsburg – The 358 Sprint Match Race at Williams Grove Speedway is slated for Friday night, September 15 at 7:30 pm.

In its second year in 2023, the Match Race for 358s is a track and fan-driven effort to post a high-dollar purse for the 358 field, with additional funds beyond the regular Williams Grove purse spread evenly from first through 24th finishing position.

As per race rules, Williams Grove Speedway is matching up to $5,000 of any and all donated moneys.

Last year, the 358 drivers in attendance competed for a purse worth more than $20,000.

And already this year the 2023 purse stands at $19,000 including 5K in matching funds from Williams Grove Speedway.

Commitments amounting to thousands of dollars in donations toward the purse have already been received from Bill Devine of Dirty Deeds in Honey Brook ($5,000) and from Ephrata Recycling ($1,000).

The Match Race is a special event for the limited sprint cars that posts not only a standard Williams Grove 358 sprint purse but it also offers the opportunity for the 358 field to race for thousands and thousands more in purse money.

All increases beyond the standard purse are thanks to donations and “Match Funds" put into the pot by any sponsors, fans AND the track.

Dirty Deeds is a big truck service and repair center that includes a specialized fabrication department.

Fans, businesses, competitors, product manufacturers and even drivers are all invited to donate to the purse.

All donated and matching funds will be divvied up EVENLY to all 24 cars in the feature field.

All donations must be received in the Williams Grove Speedway business office by the end of the day on September 1, 2023.

Donations for the Match Race will be accepted via credit card, money order or personal check.
